However, how to protect and restore such works has always been discussed by experts in the field of conservation and restoration. Therefore, according to the different views on the protection and restoration of works of art and the evolution of these views over time, basic principles should be used as the basis of conservation and restoration measures. This article, which is written in an interpretative-analytical way, explains the meaning and concept of hermeneutic theory, which has a philosophical aspect for reading texts.<br />Therefore, it expresses some of the views of its theorists, including Schleiermacher, Dilthey, Heidegger, and Gadamer, and intends to explain the concept of the principle of legibility in the process of conservation and restoration of works of art, and its connection with the theories of perception and reception. , and also examine some views of the great Iranian-Islamic philosophers in the field of knowing and understanding the meanings and achieving the nature and truth hidden in the work. Also, examining the opinions of experts and thinkers in the field of conservation and restoration, which has a critique on preserving the originality, the intention of the original artist and the inner truth of the work, is one of the other goals of this research.<br />From the results obtained in this research, according to the category of respect for the intention of the artist who created the work, originality, aesthetics and protection of historical and cultural values, in fact, one of the main tasks of protection of the restorer in the challenging path of protection and restoration of works can be said. He considered artistic-historical as the use of tools to interpret the artwork in order to make it more readable for the audience. آثار هنریِ دارای ارزش تاریخی و فرهنگی، نیازمند حفاظت و مرمت هستند. اما چگونگی حفاظت و مرمت این‌گونه آثار همواره نزد صاحب‌نظران حوزه‌ی حفاظت و مرمت، مورد بحث بوده است. از همین رو با توجه به دیدگاه‌های متفاوت نسبت به حفاظت و مرمت آثار هنری و تکامل این دیدگاه‌ها در سیر زمان، باید اصول اولیه‌ای را مبنای اقدامات حفاظتی و مرمتی قرار داد. این مقاله، که به روش تفسیری-تحلیلی نوشته شده، به تشریح معنا و مفهوم نظریه‌ی هرمنوتیک می‌پردازد که برای خوانش متون، جنبه‌ای فلسفی دارد. از همین رو، برخی از دیدگاه‌های نظریه‌پردازانِ آن از جمله شلایرماخر، دیلتای، هایدگر و گادامر را بیان می‌کند و قصد دارد به‌ منظور تبیین مفهوم اصل خوانایی در سیر حفاظت و مرمت آثار هنری، ارتباط آن را با نظریه‌های ادراک و دریافت، و نیز با توجه به برخی دیدگاه‌ های فلاسفه بزرگ ایرانی–اسلامی در حوزه شناخت و درک معانی و دستیابی به ماهیت و حقیقت مستتر در اثر، بررسی کند. همچنین، بررسی آرای صاحب‌نظران و اندیشمندان در حوزه‌ی حفاظت و مرمت که نقدی برحفظ اصالت، مقصود هنرمند اولیه و حقیقت باطنی اثر را دارد از دیگر هدف‌های این پژوهش به شمار می‌رود.<br />از نتایج حاصل شده در این پژوهش با توجه به مقوله‌ی احترام به قصد و نیت هنرمند خالق اثر، اصالت، زیبایی‌شناسی و حفاظت از ارزش‌های تاریخی و فرهنگی، در حقیقت می‌توان یکی از اصلی‌ترین وظایف حفاظت مرمتگر در مسیر پر چالش حفاظت و مرمت آثار تاریخی –هنری را استفاده از ابزار تفسیر اثر هنری به‌منظور خواناتر کردن آن برای مخاطب دانست.
